Built in former industrial area in north-east of the city, Alfa media library is made of five colored parallelepipeds, in very clever way stacked one on top of other. Viewing from highest point of the city this library have form A. Each of five worlds are identifiable and scalable by colored metal, material of celestial body. Final result is building with a “rose of views”, build with multiple facades, making colored landmark of Angoulême. It is inspired from Scandinavian model, making evidence from concrete of new generation of spaces where people can meet, learn, relax and exchange experiences.
It is linked very easily with communes in neighborhood by railway station and at same time it has link with whole world. In that way Alpha media library becomes important landmark in comic festival and it is host to journalist and public, making no distinction in terms of age.
Imagine world of childhood is incorporated in design of furniture, which is functional and fun at same time with its geometrical form. Frames made of wood installed around individual desks are providing isolation to the reader making atmosphere for concentration but at same time opens window to the word outside. In shape of extra large object are produced seats in indoor and outdoor. For example, safety pin provides modularly, fun and friendly seating.
In the entrance architect designed large staircase, creating space that is important mark in building. Alpha media library has terraces and gardens, elements for indoor ad outdoor living, providing natural light in every space in building.
