A Modern Duplex Penthouse was inspired by the city and the extensive views of the Bosphorus. It was a design by studio 1508 London.
The 330 square meter family apartment, is strategically located on the city’s European side and has a wonderful panoramic view. The designers were so careful not to obstruct the view in any ways. They created an open plan interior for the spaces, with placed mirrored walls, minimalist frameless windows expose the river view and a glass seamless balustrade on the balcony.
This apartment has modern interior and minimalistic design furniture. Ceilings have been spared of most apertures, the kitchen stripped of sink and storage spaces, these were hidden behind mirrored doors canvassing the entire back wall and most of the lighting has been concealed.
The materials selected for the interior are from the local place and visually connect with the colour of the Bosphorus waters: the blue onyx for the kitchen, white Turkish stone flooring, and the lacquered wood for display wall. Also they emphasize a modern interpretation of an Ottoman Selcuk motif displayed on the stairs, with geometric latticework.
