COS Design had an interesting challenge with this design as the classical exterior architecture of the home clashed with the modern interior palette and al fresco pool house. It seems that the home’s exterior architecture was one style – classical, while its interior had a more modern palette together with the pool in the yard.
It was very brief to create a garden with a high aesthetic value from all internal vistas and the street frontage, while the rear courtyard reveals the “modern minimalistic design”. The resulting garden brings the two styles together with seamless harmony, so home and surrounding landscapes works as one.
In this expansive courtyard the entertaining is easy with additional bench seating in both wood deck and gray stone, a flat-screen television, and wet bar/cooking area with red chairs that are in contrast with the white walls. At one end of the courtyard there are classy modern lounge chairs and at the other, a white tumbled-stone wall that is lighted from below. In addition, on this wonderful blend of mixed styles there is a gleaming royal-blue tiled spa in the pool.
